As Earl departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Earl may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Earl leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernice Levell Smith and Myrtle Leen Beam Smith; and his close friend Randall Hayes. He is survived by: his brother Steve Smith of Jemison; and his close friends, Paul Griffin of Jemison and Hunter "Goober" Mizzell of Jemison. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home (1709 Lay Dam Rd, Clanton, AL 35045). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at the Mars Hill Baptist Church (4301 County Rd 42, Jemison, AL 35085).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Earl's memory to either Jemison High School FFA or Thorsby High School FFA, to help continue his passion for teaching the next generation about farming and the values of hard work, responsibility, and love for the land.
