It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Edward Barnett of Jemison, Alabama, who passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Edward Barnett and Daisy Martin Barnett; his great grandchild Ember Southard; and his daughter-in-law Mary Barnett. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Barnett of Jemison; his sons, Robbie Barnett (Gwen) of Prattville, Clyde Barnett (Candace) of Jemison, Jeremy Barnett (Susan) of Irondale and Dennis Barnett of Jemison; his grandchildren, Alyssa Robinson (Matthew), Brannon Barnett, Dawson Barnett and Clyde Barnett (Kaylee); his great grandchildren, Levi Robinson and Taylor Brooks; and his siblings-in-law, John Kee (Debra) of Clanton, Betty Hucks of Jemison and Barbara Jones (David) of Clanton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
