He was predeceased by: his parents, Cager Nelson and Evelyn Smith Nelson; his son Scott Henderson; and his sister Pam Gore. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Nelson of Jemison; his daughters, Kim Smith (Brian) of Jemison and Kerri Tillery (Chad) of Jemison; his grandchildren, Morgan Smith, Colin Tillery (Ashlynn) and Karley Green (Bryson); and his sister Ann Davenport (James Earl) of Jemison.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ashby Baptist Church.
