He was predeceased by: his daughter Mahaska Skelton; his sons-in-law, Floyd Lee Shelton and Mark Stanley Keating; his sister Mildred Skelton Humphrey; and his parents, Robert Lorenzo Skelton and Ruthie Erline O'Bryant Skelton.
He is survived by: his wife Kate Dyer Skelton; his daughters, Sabrina Skelton Keating, Meta Skelton Criswell (Frank) and Yoma Skelton Shelton; his sisters, Dr. Carolyn Skelton Horton and Marilyn Skelton Shackelford; his grandchildren, Jade Criswell Maddox (Murphy), William Addison Criswell (Brandy Dyches), Meredith Lee Shelton, Robert Hill Keating (Emma) and Rebecca Leigh-Ann Keating; and his great grandchildren, Genevieve Kate Maddox, Gabriel Hamilton Maddox and William Aiden Criswell.
