He was predeceased by: his parents, Burton Lee and Aline True Bassham Chapman; and his siblings, Clayton, Royce, Clyde, Jerry, Leon Chapman, Clara Gatlin and Jean Henson.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Wallace Chapman; and his children, Renee Benefield (Keith), Veronica Keeton (Wayne), Melanie Argueta, Carmen Brown (Jamey) and Timothy Chapman (Terry). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
