He was predeceased by : his wife Carolyn Holden Thomas; and his parents, J. D. Thomas and Lydia Mae Quinn Coker (Clarence Coker). He is survived by : his children, Lisa Cuevas (Eddie), Greg Thomas (Danielle) and Joey Thomas (Michelle); and his grandchildren, Taryn Dean (Cory), Leah Newton (Mycal), Ryann Cuevas, Tristen Thomas, Tanner Thomas, Hunter Thomas (Allie), Hannah Thomas, Blake Hale, Garrett Hale, Zac Holt (Ann) and Shelby White (Michael). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Elkins East Chapel (7435 US-72, Killen, AL 35645). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Elkins Chapel (7435 US-72, Killen, AL 35645).
