Thompson and Judith Thompson Powell; her great grandchild Jesse Brown; her parents, Eaf Newton and Emma Lee Sledge Newton; and her siblings, Susie Herston Hammond, Essie Walton Coker, Nettie Newton, Calvin, George, Henry, Robert, Homer and Wheeler Newton.
She is survived by: her daughter Debra Ruth Thornton (James); her son-in-law Travis Powell; her grandchildren, Lana Leigh Brown (Russ), Lyndsay Ruth Powell and Robert Evan Hamner (Kenzie); and her great grandchildren, Lathan Brown, Damian Benson, Dante Benson and Lydia Slayton (Brandon). She is also survived by great-great grandson.
