She was predeceased by: her parents, Leavie Jefferson Shinholster, Jr. and Vera Mae Booth Shinholster; and her former husband George Allan Scogin, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughters, Selena Gurley (Tony) of Killen, AL and Stephanie Markham (Todd) of Huntsville, AL; her grandchildren, Kyle Gurley, Collin Gurley, Clay Gurley, Lawson Ledbetter and Harper Ledbetter; her brother Richie Shinholster (Debbie); her nephews, James King (Stephanie) of San Antonio, TX and John Shinholster of Tuscaloosa, AL; and her niece Mollie Shinholster Luetze (Simon) of Tuscaloosa, AL.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and at 1:00 PM.
