With sadness, we share the passing of Harry Edward Newman of LaFayette, Alabama. Harry, born on July 16, 1952, passed away on October 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Justin; his siblings, Larraine Bryant, Faye Buchanan, Mike Newman (Judy) and Jim Newman; his parents, Will David Newman (Jack) and Juanita Newman; his sister Joyce Swanner; his niece Cassandra Thompson Smith (Cassie); and his nephew Mitchell Thompson. He was also cherished by 47 nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, as well as countless friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Johnson-Brown Funeral Home of Valley (3700 20th Ave, Valley, AL 36854). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at the LaFayette Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking anyone that desires to do so to make a donation in Harry's name to Valley Haven School located at 6345 Fairfax Bypass, Valley, Alabama 36854.
