She was predeceased by : her parents, James H. Daniel and Jewel Swope Daniel; and her husband Prather Slay. She is survived by : her children, Jane Elliott (Rickey) of LaFayette, Mary Terry (Rusty) of Lanett, Simmie Slay (Charlene) of LaFayette, John Slay of LaFayette and Phil Slay (Kim) of Five Points; her grandchildren, Sally Slay (David Cook), Scott Slay (Margaret), George Slay (Katie), Tyler Slay (Amanda), Sarah Ruffin (David), Richard Elliott (Emily), Robert Elliott (Megan), Jonathan Elliott (Bess), Abby Hengeveld (Evan), Russell Terry, Andrew Terry (Cierra), Rachel Beasley (Nick), Zac Slay, Hannah Slay Capless (Matt) and Audra Slay; her great grandchildren, Cruz, Grayson, Ford, Laney Jane Slay, Rainy Wooten, Titus, Jude, Lillian, Zelda Elliott, Emily, Owen, Jack, Jonah Hengeveld, Molly, Milk, Ida, Caroline, Claire Terry, Waylon Beasley, Benjamin Todd, John Levi Slay, Prather and Clyde Ruffin; and her cousin Trisha Swope.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chapel Hill Methodist Church (2471 County Road 114, LaFayette, Alabama). The lying in state was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
