He is survived by: his wife Sara Akins; his children, Christy Blackmon (Travis), William Akins and Jerry East (Jennifer); his siblings, Mary Ann McCarthy (Mance), Doyle Akins (Lindsay) and Jimmy Ray Akins (Ethel); and his daughter-in-law Dina DeLee. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
