He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Fluno Childs and Melda Clarice Childs; and his grandson Damien Lowery. He is survived by: his wife Margie Childs; his brothers, William F. Childs and Larry W. Childs (Patti); his children, Rita Marlene Lowery and Marty Lee Childs (Naomi); his stepchildren, David Lowery (Felicia), Wanda Smith (Lee) and Keith Miles (Rachel); his grandchildren, Misty Moncus, Amy Warner Perez (David), Brian Warner (Samantha), Tera Lowery and Kenadee Foster; and his great grandchildren, Camden Moncus, Emma Moncus, Rylan Lowery, Ryder Lowery, Alivia Warner, Savannah Warner, Beau Warner and Mac Lowery.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home (3700 20th Ave, Valley, AL 36854). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel (3700 20th Ave, Valley, AL 36854).
