He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick W. Dowdle and Larlas L. Dowdle; and his son-in-law Jeff Wiggins. He is survived by: his wife Ann English Dowdle; his son Matt Dowdle; his daughter-in-law Traci Dowdle; his daughter Allison Dowdle Wiggins; and his grandchildren, Justin, Laci, Noel, Cody, Cade, Caleb and Ansley.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM. A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 at the Alabama Heritage Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Moody.
