It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Johnson of Leighton, Alabama, who passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Maxine Johnson to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Riddle and Cordie Riddle; her husband James Harley Johnson; her siblings, Christine Storey, Karen Toy and Robert Riddle; her parents-in-law, Sidney and Bessie Johnson; and her brother-in-law Earl Johnson.
She is survived by: her nieces, Janet Shoemaker (Larry), Teresa Baker (Ray) and Heather Cox (Garret); her nephew Jay Johnson (Karla); her great-nieces, Maryann Baker, Larissa Ross (Ryan), Caroline, CeCe and Catherine Cox; her great-nephew Mark Shoemaker (Jennifer); and her sisters-in-law, Diane Johnson and Keitha McNatt (Donald). She is also survived by numerous great-great niece's and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Leighton Baptist Children's Church or Northwest Shoals Community College Scholarship Fund.
