He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis B. Bernauer and Geraldine Bernauer; and his sister Catherine Whatley (Bill). He is survived by: his wife Nell Bernauer; his children, Stacy Eckl (Matt), Amy Moncus (Mack) and Mary Helen Bachofer (David); his grandchildren, John David, Mamie Bachofer, Will Eckl, Kathleen and Bennett Moncus; and his brothers, Gerry Bernauer (Marlene) and Paul Bernauer (Anne). He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
