He was predeceased by : his son Janson Tyde McBurnett. He is survived by : his wife Janie McBurnett; his children, Charlee McBurnett and Eli McBurnett; his parents, Mike McBurnett and Lynn McBurnett; his siblings, Shay Green (Brian) and Chris McBurnett; and his grandmother Barbara McBurnett.

“I wish I had words of healing that would ease your pain. After I heard the news about Cory, I spent the day thinking of him in my 5th grade class. He was so cute, had the best manners, and was very smart. I can see him sitting in his desk with his little shorts and shoes on. I have such good memories of Shay and Cory and was blessed to have taught them. I pray that God will wrap His arms around all of you and His peace will be upon you in the days to come.
