He is survived by: his wife Nancy McFadden Friend; his stepson Vernon L. Gray; his children, Ed Gray, Jane Wick and Jason Gray; and his sisters, Vikki Helms and Debb Layton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
