She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Stanil and Addie Lou Pate; her husband John Kemp Akins; her son John Kemp "Kem" Akins, Jr.; and her grandson Daniel Lynn Akins.
She is survived by: her children, David Lynn Akins (Ann), Terri Moore (Steve), Patrick Floyd Akins (Leigh), Paul Henry Akins and Glen Allen Akins (Amy Jo); her daughter-in-law Kathy Akins; her sister Carol Phifer (Ron); her grandchildren, Chris, Anna, Tyler, Grant, Morgan, Taylor, Catherine, Philip, Audrey, Walker, Addie Grace, Sam and Sawyer; and her great grandchildren, Wyatt and Lily.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Linden Memorial Park (1117 E Coats Ave, Linden, AL 36748). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
