He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Jack and Mary Louise McClinton. He is survived by: his wife Jennifer A. McClinton; his sons, Billy Jack "Trey" McClinton, III and Brandon James McClinton; and his sisters, Deborah M. Bonner (Jimmy), Teresa M. Smith (Phillip) and Paula M. Fultz (Billy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
