With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Emmie Nell Stokes of Linden, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 10, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Richard and Bobbie Shumate Bridges; and her siblings, Ethel Gill, Willie Mae Anderson, James B. Bridges, Houston Bridges, Margaret Allday, John Thomas Bridges, Desmond Bridges, Glover Bridges and Sybil Kam.
She is survived by: her daughters, Dianne Wiggins and Beverly Barr (Gary); and her grandchildren, Wes Wiggins (Claire), Matt Barr and Emily Shaw (Steven).
In lieu of flowers memorials, may be made in Mrs. Stokes' name to Linden Methodist Church, 401 North Main Street, Linden, AL 36748.
