He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Oates, Tavis Oates, Tammaria Reid (Earl) and Samseketha Cooper; his sister Dianne Oates of Augusta, GA; his aunt Mary Adeline Wall of Fayetteville, NC; his uncle John White (Annette) of Gaffney, SC.; and his niece Elienne Nicole Oates of Augusta, GA. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
