He was predeceased by: his parents, John Anthony Smith and Julia Evans Gordon Smith; and his siblings, Paul Gordon Smith, Buren Elizabeth Acton, Joseph William Smith, Dorothy Louise Snowden, Joyce Smith Lancaster and Zelia Smith Stephens.
He is survived by: his sons, Jason William Smith, John Andrew Smith and James Adam Smith; and his siblings, John Anthony Smith, Jr., Donald Eugene Smith, Clara Me Castle, Carolyn Smith Maddox and Sarah Ann Biggs. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
