She was predeceased by: her mother Lula Mae Bryant; her husband Robert Charles "Mickey" Blackwell; and her siblings, Joyce Woods, Mollie Dawes, Jessie McCoy, Frankie Jones and Cecil Bryant.
She is survived by: her children, Melinda Blackwell, Robert Dale Blackwell (Karlie) and Jennifer Blackwell; and her grandchildren, Shelly Blackwell Hargrove (Leigh), Lauren Pomeroy Logan (Jeremy), Heather Blackwell Orvis (Brandon), Lindsay Pomeroy Ung (Meng), Jesse Blackwell Foster (Brandi), Patrick Foster (Raeven), Austin Travis Chesser (Jade) and Jon Cole Chesser (Ivy). She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the New Live Oak Cemetery (110 W Dallas Ave, Selma, AL 36701).
