It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Alan Jones of Luverne, Alabama, who passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaylord Jones and Avonell Patterson Jones; his siblings-in-law, Royce Stroud, Horace Paul Bozeman, Stevie Owens, Donald Thomas, Jimmy Shaver, Doris Thomas and Anne Carr; and his nephew Brian Stroud.
He is survived by: his wife Billie Carr Jones; his sons, Danny (Brandy Jones) and Tyler (Courtney Jones); his grandchildren, Savannah Grace (Aubrey), Max Jones, Lily Jones, Sadie Jones and Eli Jones; his sister Jane Stroud; and his siblings-in-law, John A. Carr (Wanda), Carolyn Bozeman, Jeanette Farmer (Johnny), LaRue Shaver and Virginia Owens. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Turners Funeral Home (360 E 3rd St, Luverne, AL 36049). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Camp Ground Methodist Church (2003 Turkey Creek Rd, Luverne, AL 36049).
