She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert "Hal" Garrett and Annie Cain Garrett; her siblings, Dorothy "Dot" Garrett and Robert Dalton Garrett; her nephew Robert Ray Garrett; and her sons, Jonathan Evan Humerick and Owen Neal Humerick.

She is survived by : her step-children, Chris (J. D. Frey), Steven (Laura Heckler), England and Paul Robert Humerick (Teresa) of Priceville, AL.; her step-granddaughters, Maggie of Huntsville, AL and Grace of Watford; her sister-in-law Ethel Garrett of Baytown, TX; her nephews, Ken Garrett (Vicki) of Decatur, AL, David Garrett (Roshaun) and Ron Garrett (Angie) of Missouri City, TX; and her niece Ann Garrett Fehring (Bob) of Baytown, TX.

She was on past boards for the Board of Directors for the ARC of Morgan County and the Epilepsy Foundation of America.
