He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Patrick Whalen and Charlotte Eleen Whalen of Manzanola. He is survived by: his wife Joan Marie Hewlett; his sons, Rodney L. Whalen of Boone and Clayton M Whalen of Pueblo, Colorado.; his grandson Tyler P. Whalen (Linnea) of Parker, Colorado.; his great grandchildren, Sophia Whalen and Madison Whalen of Parker, Colorado.; his siblings, Agnes Sanders of Steelville, Patricia Whalen of Santa Monica, Ellen Craig of Madison and Roger Whalen of Fowler; and also Janet Younger (Henry) of Gurley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
