He was predeceased by : his grandparents, Jimmie Franks, Thomas E. Franks, Grady Dozier and Lorene Dozier. He is survived by : his parents, Shirley Bates (Danny) and Robert G. Franks; his wife Tammy K. Smitherman; his daughter Ashley Thrash (Shay); his grandchildren, Carolina Thrash and Calder Thrash; his grandmother Joyce Bates; his siblings, Amanda Franks and Justin Bates; his nephews, Will Harris (Kenzie) and Seth Harris; and his niece Anika Bates.
