He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery F. Nichols, Sr. and Bertha Jane Ingram Nichols; and his siblings, Avery F. Nichols, Jr., Bobby G. Nichols, Claude V. Nichols, Jackie Nichols, Dorothy M. Mason, Sally Gregory and Madeline Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Carroll Nichols of Heiberger; his son Franklin E. Nichols of Gordo, AL; his brother Gerald Nichols of Centreville, AL; his grandchildren, Benjamin Mason Nichols of Heiberger, Kaylea Lane Nichols of Gordo and Carroll Anne Meaney of Cottondale, AL; and his aunt Betty Len Trantham of Marion, AL.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Heiberger Methodist Church (Jericho Rd, Sprott, AL 36756). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Heiberger Methodist Church Cemetery (Jericho Rd, Sprott, AL 36756).
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Payne Chapel Cemetery, 2714 County Road 162, Marion, AL 36756.
