He was predeceased by : his parents, George E Svetlay, Sr. and Mildred Louise Lee Svetlay; and his sister Shirley Lee Finley Denton. He is survived by : his sister Retha Louise Svetlay Burdett (Thomas); his brother-in-law Thomas J. Denton; his nieces, Kelly Lee Denton Wyatt (Gary) and Abbie Michelle Burdett; and his nephew Richard Leon Denton.
