She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Nolen Sr. and Effie Juanita Mardis Nolen; her husband George Barry Norton; her siblings, Robert Nolen Jr., Ola Mae Meade, Cherokee Titus, Mordica Mike "Bootney" Nolen and Mable Julius Weidenback; and her half-brother W. A. "Gus" Simmons.

She is survived by : her daughters, Barri Ann Norton Pratt (Ted) and Jenny Norton Greer (Jeff); her sister Helen Virginia Street; and her caregivers, Beth Hosmer, Connie Cutrer and Kara Cole. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
