He was predeceased by: his mother Ada Belle Smitherman; and his brothers, Steve and Mark Phelps. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Smith; his children, Brandy Boyd (Chris) and Nicholas Smith (Mindy); his grandchildren, Jonas Smith, Collin Boyd (Miranda), Alyssa Thompson (Seth) and Brennan Boyd; his great grandchild Henry Thompson; and his siblings, Rhonda Keister (Will), Billie Jean Sturgill (Ronnie) and Cleve Adkins (Paula). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Hepzibah Baptist Church Building Fund.
