Deloris Blount Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Deloris Blount (McIntosh, Alabama), who passed away on February 16, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Rufus Blount; her parents, Ernest Thornton and Odette Thornton; and her siblings, Voncile Brown, Buddy Thornton, Bobby Thornton, Billy Thornton and Jimmy Thornton.

She is survived by: her daughters, Malinda Daughterty (Larry) and Malissa Smith (Ken); her sister Sandra Brown; her sisters-in-law, Brenda Thornton and Patsy Hill; her grandchildren, Clay Sheffield (Tara), Meg Gartman (Paul) and Tyler Smith (Rebekah); and her great grandchildren, Carson Sheffield, Grady Gartman, Hudson Smith and Benton Smith. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
