She was predeceased by : her husband Clifford McCarter; her parents, Leonard Harrelson and Eva Harrelson; and her siblings, J. D. Harrelson, J. V. Harrelson, James Harrelson, Mack Harrelson, Lillie Mae Harrelson Boatwright and Era Mae Harrelson Flowers.

She is survived by : her children, Randall McCarter (Rebecca) and Barbara McCarter Howell; and her grandchildren, Michael Howell (Devie), Gregory Howell (Angela) and Christi Scruggs (Jason). She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
