She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lester Brown and Ina Mae Brown; her siblings, Bobbie Ruth Brown and Dr. William "Bill" Lester Brown; and her brother-in-law Dr. Earl Bentley.

She is survived by: her son Miles K. Brown; her daughter-in-law Lori Ann Brown; her grandson William Lester Brown; her granddaughter-in-law Hope Luree Brown; her granddaughter Margaret "Maggie" Rose Barto; her grandson-in-law Sergeant Corey Barto; her great grandchildren, Annalise Rose Barto and Eleanor Luree Brown; her sister LeMerle Bentley; and her sister-in-law Elaine Brown. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name and honor to Alabama Audubon (alaudubon.org/donate), or that you plant a fruit-bearing tree or flowers on your own property in her memory.
