She was predeceased by: her parents, Essie Honea and Ethia Honea (Wright); her husband William Franklin Thompson; and her siblings, Raymond Honea, Madillon Swafford, Edith Harris and Loy Morris.

She is survived by: her sons, Jeff Thompson (Patricia) and Mark Thompson (Cynthia); her grandchildren, Anna Thompson, Justin Thompson (Lindsey), Sarah Earles (William) and Ross Thompson (Abby); her great grandchildren, William Thompson, Bailey Thompson, James Earles, Robert Earles and Shep Thompson; and her brothers, Nolan Honea (Naomi) and Carl Honea (Lynda). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations in her honor be made to Union Grove Baptist Church.
