He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Harrison Pennington and Thelma Butt Hawkins Pennington; and his son Gary Pennington. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Joyce Wheeler Pennington; his children, Darrell Pennington and Karen Gaylord (Erik); his siblings, Walter Alvin Pennington, Carl Allen Pennington (Maryanne) and Gloria Jean Gentry; his grandchildren, Ashley Duby and Dana O'Dell; and his great grandchildren, Riley Duby, Aria O'Dell, Kalie O'Dell and Charley Duby. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Millbrook Presbyterian Church General Fund, P. O. Box 426, Millbrook, AL 36054 in his memory.
