He was predeceased by: his wife Nettie Gunnells Kelly; his parents, Charles Douglas Kelly Sr. and Catherine Irwin Bledsoe; and his siblings, Charles Douglas Kelly Jr. and Catherine Kelly Rogers.

He is survived by: his brother-in-law John D. Gunnels. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
