We bid farewell to John Atkins of Millport, Alabama, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 13, 2025 at the age of 71. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Maudine Odom and Dwight Atkins Sr.; his sisters, Winna C. Whitten and Sarah L. Atkins; and his siblings-in-law, Nelda Atkins, Lorraine Atkins, Mike Cash and Earnest Whitten.
He is survived by: his siblings, Nancy Holman of Columbus, MS, Charles Atkins of Columbus, MS and Luther Atkins of Columbus, MS. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lowndes Funeral Home (1131 Lehmberg Rd, Columbus, MS 39702). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM and on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
