He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Sturdivant and Louise Blaylock Sturdivant; his wife Daisy; his children, Philip and Olene Bridges; his grandson Mario Hannah; and his sisters, Ollie V. Morton, Luberta Brock and Verdell Maddox.
He is survived by: his family, Clyde Blakely, Willie G. Watson, Que Boyette and Lewie Fields; his brothers, Roy Sturdivant, Burdett Sturdivant, Bradford Sturdivant and Sonny Boy Sturdivant; and his children, Coy Sturdivant (Jeanette) of Columbus, MS, Roy Sturdivant of Columbus, MS, Michael Sturdivant (Josie) of Columbus, MS, Stanley Sturdivant of Millport, Annie Sturdivant of Millport, Shirley Sturdivant of Millport, Rhonda Sturdivant of Millport, Virginia Odom (Johnny) of Millport, Barbara Sturdivant of Racine, CA and Linda Sturdivant of Tuscaloosa.
