It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amy Charles Peterson Jr. of Millry, Alabama, who passed away on July 4, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Amma Charles Peterson, Sr.; his wife Rosa Lee Peterson; his mother Mary Lee Peterson McMillan; his son Robert Eugene Peterson; and his siblings, Claude Peterson, Elizabeth Crager, Eva Miller, Jackie McGuire, Lucille Dean and Betty Jo Hutchinson.
He is survived by: his children, Suzanne Moore (Ben) and Raymond Kirkland; his grandchildren, Jennifer E. Perry (Chris), Samuel B. Moore, Robert Peterson II (Sabrina), Amie Charles Peterson III, Leslie Peterson, Brent Kirkland (Heather) and Shea Whigham (Ty); and his great grandchildren, Lily Ann Peterson, Langston Kirkland, Haisley Whigham, Peyton Peterson, Caden Peterson, Tanner Peterson and Jayke Whigham.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Flat Branch Church (263 Sam Sullivan Rd, Millry, AL 36558). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at the Flat Branch Cemetery.
