He was predeceased by: his parents, Nettie Fairley and Seab Fairley; his siblings, Mable Fairley, Etta Lyons, Julia Fairley, Willie and Freddie Lyons; his uncles, Eddie and Charlie Odom; his nephews, Artie, Malcolm and Daniel Fairley; and his niece LaCoreia Fairley.
He is survived by: his sons, Byron Fairley and Marlon Fairley (Kessler); his grandsons, Marlon II and Kellen Fairley; his siblings, Dorothy Fairley, Carolyn Powell, Jack Fairley (Diane) and L. C. Lyons of Fort Valley, GA.; and his friends, Curtis, Mamie Michael, Bo White, Earnestine Jackson, Nettie Thomas, Walter Ward and Charles Harper.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church (863 Summerville St, Mobile, AL 36617). A burial was held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery (34904 AL-225, Spanish Fort, AL 36577).
