He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherrod Sims and Annie Lou Sims; his wife Betty Jean Lord; and his siblings, Judson Sims, Sherrod Sims Jr., Harold Sims and Flora Bell Skinner.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen Sims (Jeanne) and Stephanie Clark (Jason); his grandchildren, Travis Sims and Claire Sims Fletcher; and his sisters, Murphy Ann Lucas (Robert) and Kitty Sue Englebert. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cherished friends.
