He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mathis and Ludie Mathis; and his son Scott Mathis. He is survived by: his wife LaJuna Mathis; his children, Tony Mathis (Rose) of Citronelle and Melodie Baldwin (Edward) of Daphne; and his daughter-in-law Terri Mathis of Mobile. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews.
