She was predeceased by: her husband Marvin R. Carpenter; and her children, Marvin E. Carpenter and Donna Carpenter Schermer. She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia Smith of Brookhaven and Susan Barter (Michael) of Fairhope, Alabama; her son-in-law Philip Schermer, Jr. of Mobile, Alabama; her grandchildren, Jason Biggs (Mary), Michael Biggs (Wendy), Philip "Tres" Schermer, III, Lindsay Barter and Lauren Barter; and her great grandchildren, Dallas Millevoi, Patton Biggs, Audrey Biggs and Michael Roland Biggs. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
