He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Jerkins and Willie Mae Maddox Jerkins; and his sister Gina Jerkins. He is survived by: his wife Cora Sue Burkhead Jerkins; his granddaughter Morgan Steele Satterwhite (Colby); his nephew Zane (Sherre Burkhead); his cousin Durwood Mantel; and his close friends, Burl Brown and Carl Jackson.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Methodist Church of Brewton (820 Belleville Ave, Brewton, AL 36426). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
