He was predeceased by: his parents, James Washington Brown and Beulah Jane Stonecipher Brown. He is survived by: his wife Joy Louise McDonald Brown; and his children, Joy Lynne Brown Hardy, Leigh Brown Hill (Bill Hill, Jr.), Cleo Lorene "Lori" Brown Cheney (Lain Bryant Cheney) and Franklin Delano Brown, Jr. (Kristina Rae Brown). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
