It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Marion Wainwright of Mobile, Alabama, who passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his former wife Diane Lee Wainwright; and his parents, Marion Charles Wainwright and Marinelle Dumas Wainwright. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Harrison Wainwright; his children, Scott Jerome Wainwright and Shay Wainwright Parker (John); his grandchildren, Brian Wainwright, Nathaniel Robinson, Tyler Cox, Breanna Trawick, Hayley Robinson and Mattea Trawick; his great grandchildren, Milo Baker, Quincy Baker and Kassidy Cox; his siblings, Charles David Wainwright (Shirley) and Leslie Lynn Wainwright; his stepmother Fay Wainwright; his stepchildren, Michael Trawick (Traci), Keli Robinson and Elizabeth Trawick; and his close friend Robert Zimmerman. He is also survived by many extended family members, dear friends.
