He is survived by: his wife Frances Laurence Oberkirch; his children, James Ross Oberkirch, Jr. (Cindy), Laurence Vincent Oberkirch (Karen), Eileen Oberkirch Rodgers (David) and Amy Oberkirch Lary (Bart); his sisters, Virginia Oberkirch Egan, June Oberkirch Schilling and Sadie Oberkirch Ardoyno; his grandchildren, Patricia Rodgers Bennett (Heath), Kari Rodgers Howard (Adam), Kellie Oberkirch Johnson (Will), JoAnna Oberkirch McGrew (Heath), James Ross Oberkirch, III (Kayli), Robert Beard Lary, III (Be Be), David Andrew Rodgers, Jr. (Lauren), Holly Oberkirch Nelson (Ray), Heather Lary Risner (Nick), Laurence Vincent Oberkirch, Jr. (Lauren), Neil Anthony Oberkirch (Natalie), Brian Joseph Lary and Sadie Mae Oberkirch; and his great grandchildren, Watson Bennett, Charlie Howard, Gloria Howard, Drew Rodgers, Ellis Bennett, Annie McGrew, Max Howard, Grace Risner, Liam Johnson, Heath McGrew, Jr. and Larsyn Johnson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Dominic Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
