He was predeceased by: his wife Teresa C. Barnickel; his sons, Joshua S. Barnickel and Geremy L. Bowden; and his parents, John W. Barnickel Sr. and Jeanette V. Barnickel.
He is survived by: his children, Jamie Horstman (Jason), John Barnickel III (Nikki) and Jaryn Barnickel; his grandchildren, Jacob Horstman, Jaxon Horstman, Jase Barnickel and Jack Barnickel; his siblings, Jacoba Brown (Alfred), Jeffrey Barnickel (Kim) and Jolane Marques (René); and his siblings' children, Clint Brown (Melanie), Chris Brown, Hayden Brown, Camden Brown, Taylor Sergeant (Stacy) and Amanda Barnickel. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that everyone bring a written story of Big John to share at the celebration that they may keep and cherish for years to come.
