John Marcus Lane Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Marcus Lane of Mobile, Alabama, who passed away on May 20, 2026 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Claiborne Matthew and Stella Mae Wall Lane; his son Michael; and his siblings, Claiborne Matthew Jr., Oneta and Bonnie.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Havard Lane; his children, Alison (Lawrence), Steve (Teresa), John (Debra), Edna and David (Susy); his grandchildren, Laurel (Jansen), Bradley (Lauren), Natalie, Taylor, Dillon, Ann Ivey, Bay and Percy; his great grandchildren, Clara and Jace; his siblings, Nell and Donald; and his caregiver Mary Westry.

Memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Research at the Mitchell Cancer Institute at USA Health or to St. Francis Episcopal Church.
